Over the course of my career I have been fortunate to work for organizations which have recognized my potential and given me the latitude to take risks to succeed. A sampling of my achievements resulting from this professional growth follows.
Managed and motivated a team of professional engineers.
A well managed and motivated group of people working together as a team are capable of producing extraordinary results. I have worked with talented technical people for a number of years and over the past four successfully led Engineering departments at USFilter and GE-Glegg.
Provided project specific technical guidance to company personnel and clients.
Understanding customer needs, explicit and implicit, and providing expert advice are important to ensuring customer satisfaction and their continued business. Technical presentations to customers bring project teams from both organizations together to arrive at mutual understanding.
Consistently met or exceeded customer expectations for deliverables.
Yet again, understanding the customer is important to their continued satisfaction and business. This applies to external and internal customers.
Assisted outside Sales Force in securing project orders.
Inside Sales and outside Sales form a partnership that is key to the success of the team approach. Communication between team members and with the customer must be professional and punctual.
Developed and implemented administrative procedures, corporate initiatives and programs.
Organization of work processes and procedures is critical to maintaining work flow and schedules. Additionally, communication of the corporate philosophy brings individuals together to form a cohesive team.
Coordinated and provided technical and commercial training for new and established employees.
Well educated employees contribute more to the productivity and corporate image of a progressive organization. Companies and their employees strive to be the best in their industry.
Provided leadership during the establishment of USFilter industrial systems office in Canada.
It is important to have the correct tools and procedures in place. The USFilter office started from an empty space with few tools or procedures. Working as a team, needs were identified, tools were created and procedures put in place.
Promoted internally to management positions at two different organizations: USFilter and GE-Glegg Water Technologies.
Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and initiative are personal attributes that are recognized when an opportunity for advancement presents itself.
Demonstrated leadership and provided stability during the initial stages of the GE integration of Glegg.
The ability to adapt to a changing situation can overcome the fear that often accompanies the change.
Designed more than 30 heavy industrial water treatment plants, including the World's largest EDI water treatment system.
It is easiest to lead and motivate a team of talented individuals when you have the technical knowledge to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself if necessary.
